LEARNING A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT AT BEAUMONT SCHOOL
Learning a musical instrument at Beaumont School is a very popular choice and there are currently over 200 students taking instrumental lessons with 20 peripatetic teachers visiting the school. All instrumental and vocal tuition at Beaumont School is provided by the Hertfordshire Music Service.
Taster Lessons Offered (Year 7)
Once new Year 7 students have settled into life at Beaumont it may be possible to offer them taster lessons on one of the following instruments:

Beaumont School and its Governing body are committed to giving students new learning experiences and subsidises the cost of ‘taster’ lessons on instruments of which the student has no experience. The cost to parents will be a flat rate of £50 (the school pays the balance).
Students will be entitled to eleven 20 minute shared lessons which comprise of two students per group. These lessons are provided for one term only. The school will then write to you to find out if your son/daughter wishes to continue with lessons in the following term and beyond (see below for times and prices).

Invoices for lessons will be sent out during the first half of each term. The following lessons are available in any of the instruments stated above:

Shared Lessons
For practical reasons, shared lessons are not available on piano or drums. On other instruments they are only available where there are other pupils of a similar standard with whom to share. If you wish to sign up for a shared lesson, please try and indicate another student who would be willing to share with your child.
