This page replicates the text of a document given to all prospective Sixth Form students (including external applicants).

Welcome to Beaumont Sixth Form! This document is aimed to help you with the process of enrolling for the Sixth Form and how to get advice if you need it once you get your results.

Enrolment Deadline

Please ensure that you return the Course Confirmation Form and signed Student Agreement to the marked box provided, under the covered walkway outside the Hall, by the deadline of 10am on Tuesday 29th August. The box will be available from GCSE Results Day. Do remember that the school gates are closed over the bank holiday weekend. If we do not get your form back by this deadline, we have to assume that you have decided not to take up your place and we will release the spaces reserved for you on your chosen subjects. This means that we cannot guarantee that there will be a place for you should you subsequently get in touch.

Getting advice on Results Day (Thursday 24th August)

Staff will be available on GCSE Results Day (Thursday 24th August) to answer any specific questions regarding Sixth Form enrolment. We are expecting Alison Curnow, our Youth Connexions Personal Adviser, to be with us on this day but if not, and you have already been working with her in school, she may contact you over the following week. Also, any student can visit the Youth Connexions base in Catherine Street to receive impartial advice and guidance about future pathways.

If, having received your results, you have issues regarding your chosen subjects and need detailed advice you should book a personal discussion slot in the Hall with a member of LT between 13.00 -15.00 on the same day. This must be booked that morning when you receive your results.

If you are currently at another school and have applied to us for Sixth Form, you can attend a drop-in session between 13.00-15.00 on the same day in the Hall with Mr Atkinson.

There is no need to come if you want to change a subject and do not need any advice – please just indicate this on your Course Confirmation Form and place in the marked box. To be clear, in either case, it is unlikely that we will be able to confirm any subject changes before Enrolment Day on Tuesday 5th September. Many classes are full and we will only be able to ascertain where spaces have been freed up once we have processed all the forms.

Please do not expect to get in touch using the school email or main phone numbers as the Office is not staffed during the holidays and your message will not be received until term starts. The only day to meet for a discussion is Results Day, Thursday 24th August. Any queries raised after this will be tackled at Enrolment Day on Tuesday 5th September. Please check your Course Confirmation Form for the timings of this day.

Entry criteria

Please check carefully that you have met the entry criteria for your chosen subjects. These are in your Sixth Form prospectus, on the reverse of your offer letter or can be downloaded from the Beaumont or BeauSandVer websites. If you have not met the published criteria for your chosen subjects, please ensure you indicate alternative subject choices for which you do meet the criteria on your Course Confirmation Form.
