School Captain 2010-2011:

Rugby at Beaumont is focussed on competition, enjoyment and inclusion. We aim to develop all round intelligent rugby players capable of playing direct but attractive rugby. Everyone and anyone are welcome to training and we are more than happy to run two sides in an age group if we have the numbers! Training is based around mastering the basic skills of the game, but also with a large amount of time dedicated to applying those skills in game situations.

We run junior sides at Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and a senior side combined from Year 11 and the sixth form. The junior sides have at least 1- fixtures against local schools on Saturday mornings from the October half term to the February half term, and compete in District seven-a-side tournaments before Easter. In addition to this the Year 10 side competes in the daily Mail National Cup. The senior side also competes in the National Cup and plays friendly fixtures on Wednesday afternoons throughout the autumn and spring terms.
The school is fortunate enough to receive the help of a number of non-PR staff without whom we could not run the number of teams and fixtures that we do. We are also fortunate enough to have access to the St Albans RFC ground for after-school training.
