The Sixth FormBeaumont has a large and thriving Sixth Form comprising, currently, 288 students. Around 80% of students from the Lower School move into the Lower Sixth every year. They are supplemented by a further group who choose to join from other schools at this point in their education. Typically this group numbers around 20 per year. Beaumont hosts a Post 16 Open Evening every January for interested students and parents. The all round quality of Beaumont’s Sixth Form was recognised in December 2008 when the OFSTED inspection team assessed all aspects of its provision as “Outstanding” – the highest possible accolade. As well as a very high standard of teaching and student support, the Sixth Form offers an extremely wide range of curriculum options through its consortium arrangements with the local Sandringham and Verulam schools. A wide choice of A levels are available alongside the alternative option of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. There is also a bespoke qualification called “T12” for those students who wish to stay a further year in a school environment to take additional level 2 (GCSE equivalent) qualifications. For further details on curriculum options and how to apply please reference our Consortium website at www.BeauSandVer.org.uk For a copy of the powerpoint presentation given by Mr de Kort, Head of Sixth Form, at the recent Year 12 Parents Information evening, click here. |
