Yvonne Deal Community Governor until 31-3-12
Yvonne works for Hertfordshire County Council as Benefits Adviser for children with disabilities. She works with parents and carers who have children with a wide range of special needs as well as with CSF staff, health professionals and voluntary organisations across Hertfordshire. She served as a LEA governor in a Special School and is Beaumont's SEN Governor. Her Interests include staff welfare, special needs and inclusion and raising achievement for all. The primary area of experience she can offer to the school is in SEN/disability and pastoral care.

Kevin Doyle Parent Governor until 19-10-10
Kevin has lived in St Albans for over 20 years, has a daughter at Beaumont, and works in London as an IT business analyst. He has been a school governor since 2000, firstly at his children’s primary school and now at Beaumont. During that period he has focused on a number of areas of governance including the quality of parental communications, financial management, use of ICT in the school, premises, disability equality, progress assessment and extended schools. He is currently the Chair of Governors at a local primary school and at Beaumont Kevin is a member of the Community Committee and is working with the school on ways to use IT to improve parental partnership.

Rosie Dudgeon Staff Governor until 7-02-2014
Rosie graduated from Queens University Belfast and went on to complete a post graduate Diploma in Librarianship at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. She was a children’s librarian with Hertfordshire County Council before coming to work in the library at Beaumont School. Rosie joined the governors in March 2010 and currently is a member of the Community Committee. She is Membership Secretary of St Albans Children’s Book Group which organises local author events and arranges book testing for the Red House Children’s Book Award. When she is not lost in a good book, Rosie enjoys gardening and escaping to exhibitions, museums and art galleries.

Judith Fingland LEA governor until 11-10-13
I have a BA in History from Leicester University and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from London University and taught History in secondary schools since graduating, until I retired 3 years ago, apart from a short break when my two sons - now in their thirties - were small. I spent the last 25 years teaching in St Albans. I was a pastoral head and this is a particular interest of mine. I was also a GCSE examiner for 15 years.
Since retiring, I have qualified as a St Albans City Guide and give talks on the history of the city, as well as taking guided walks. The Roman town is my particular specialism. I am also a volunteer teacher in the Education Department at St Albans Abbey and an Abbey Guide. I help with the children's holiday activities in the two museums in the city. |

Nina Forster Staff (teacher) Governor until 18-9-12.
Nina graduated from Royal Holloway College, BSc in Maths and Computing, followed by a PGCE at Chelsea College, both University of London. She has taught at various schools in England and at Beaumont for the last four years. She took five years break to look after her children and during that time lived and worked in San Diego, California. She is married with two children, one studying Zoology University and the second one finishing A levels this summer (2009).
Nina is interested in the Curriculum, Teaching and Learning area of governors’ responsibility and is a member of that committee. |

Paul Glithero-West LEA Governor until 19-5-14
After gaining a masters degree at Loughborough University in Criminology and Criminal Justice Paul joined the Civil Service to work on the development of the Olympic Infrastructure Budget. Since then Paul has worked as a policy advisor for HM Treasury on government initiatives including the establishment of the Green Investment Bank, sale of the Royal Mail, and measures to ensure that banks continue to lend to businesses during the economic downturn. Most recently Paul has moved away from the civil service and joined the BBC to help manage major projects. Paul lives with his wife Elizabeth in St Albans and is expecting a baby girl in October. Paul was previously the Chair of the Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Committee and now attends a mix of all committees. His interests include squash, mountain biking and music.

Alex Hall Community Governor until 28-11-14
Alex grew up in Hertfordshire and has lived in St Albans since 2006. After reading Modern History at Balliol College, Oxford, he took law conversion and legal practice courses at Oxford Brookes University and the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice. He qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and now practises as a commercial litigator, with a specialism in fraud litigation. The last few years have been particularly busy and involved cases relating to FTSE100 companies, Icelandic banks and various well-known international multi-millionaires. Alex is also an avid amateur musician, having held organ scholarships in Edinburgh and Oxford. He is currently a member of St Peter’s Church Choir and local chamber choir, Mosaic. He is also a guest conductor of Carillon and was, until recently, conductor of the firm choir at Addleshaw Goddard LLP. As Alex’s partner, Hanh, is Head of Music at Beaumont, he can often be found in school, accompanying students for concerts and exams. He was thrilled to be asked to accompany the Beaumont School Vocal Ensemble on their recent CD, Cantique (available from the Music Department for only £8!). Alex is a member of the Resources and CTL Committees.

John Ingamells Parent Governor until 26-11-12
Father of Oliver and Hugh, both at Beaumont.
John graduated in languages (French, Spanish and Portuguese) from Liverpool University in 1984. He joined the Foreign Office (HM Diplomatic Service) in 1984 and served in South Korea ('85-'90) and Argentina ('90-'94). (Time in Korea included learning Korean - but now very rusty!)
John returned to UK in 1994 and settled in St Albans. In 2000 he left the Foreign Office and after 9 years in financial services has recently been appointed as director of a new industry body set up to promote the financial services at home and abroad.

Steve Jump Staff Governor until 14-09-15
Steve Graduated from De Montfort University in Bedfordshire (now the University of Bedfordshire) BEd (hons) in Physical Education and Science. Steve joined Beaumont School in April 2008 as Head of Physical Education following six years at Rickmansworth School, Hertfordshire where he took on a number of roles including Second In PE, School Sports Coordinator and Assistant Head of Year 7. Steve also worked as a part time lecturer within the teacher training faculty at The University of Bedfordshire from 2007 until 2011. He has had the privilege of representing his country in Volleyball during the 2003 – 2006 seasons and also currently works as an Beach Volleyball official throughout Europe during the school holidays.

Abdul-Hakim Kadodia Community Governor until 28-11-14
Born in St Albans, Hakim is an Old Beaumontian with a daughter currently in Year 8. Formerly a computer programmer, Hakim works locally as a Senior Account Manager for a Business Finance and IT Consultancy specialising in recruitment. Also as a local primary school governor for over 12 years he has made a strong contribution in promoting effective community cohesion. As the President of a local faith charity, Hakim oversaw a number of initiatives to further encourage inter-faith dialogue. He takes pleasure in spending time with his family; he also enjoys reading and cooking. Hakim is an ardent supporter of Tottenham Hotspur FC, which inevitably means that his patience is often severely tested and well accustomed to disappointment!

Andy Mallett Parent Governor until 26-11-12
Andy is married to Rachel and has one boy at Beaumont, another in the Sixth Form Consortium and a girl at junior school. Andy has worked in the Financial Services sector for a number of years and is currently employed as an IT Programme Manager. He has broad business and change management experience, as well as a Professional Diploma in Management and a degree in Engineering. His interests include cycling, tennis and skiing. Andy is a member of the Resources Committee. |

John McAlister Parent Governor until 21-11-14
John has lived in St Albans for the past 16 years. His is married with three children all of whom have attended Fleetville and his eldest is now at Beaumont. For the past 15 years his has worked in the professional services advising clients on business strategy, operational improvement and investments - prior to that he worked in Oil/Gas industry. He has degrees in Physics from Durham University and the University of British Columbia and attended Westfields comprehensive school on Teesside. Interests include: all sports (mostly watching now), mountains, skiing and - unfortunately - Middlesbrough FC.

Jean McCann LEA governor until 18-9-12
Jean attended teacher Training College in London, followed ten years later by Physical Education College, teaching in Sheffield, London and West Sussex, before moving to Australia where she duplicated her qualifications and was asked to undertake teacher training in colleges and universities. Returning to UK she gained a degree in Philosophy of Education and was involved in formulating and examining PE as an examination subject. She has experience of appointing staff, time-tabling, assessing needs of the disabled of all ages and coaching awards and has been involved with international women’s games.
For many years Jean has volunteered for the National Rose Gardens, Talking Newspapers and the Lifeboat Association, the latter as presenter for schools and adult groups.

Carolyn Morris Parent Governor until 31-3-12
Carolyn has three children, one of which currently attends Beaumont School. She joined the Governing Body in May 2008 and is a member of both the Resources Committee and the Community Committee, she also acts as the Governor Development Co-ordinator.
Carolyn works for Hertfordshire County Council within the Governance department, where she has been involved in organising training courses for Hertfordshire school governors. As part of her job she has worked in the Leadership Appointment Service, which deals with all aspects of recruiting Head Teachers and Deputy Head Teachers within Hertfordshire schools.
Carolyn’s outside interests include playing tennis and escaping to the cinema and theatre whenever possible.

Rena Prindiville Community Governor until 06-07-14
Rena lives in Hemel Hempstead and has three children and five grand-daughters. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants with nearly 30 years experience of the education sector, 20 years of these in FE. She was appointed as Senior Post Holder and Director of Finance & Information at Harrow College in April 2002; Harrow is a general FE College with a staff complement of circa 400 and an annual budget of £22m. Her role within the College includes the provision of strategic financial management, advice and guidance to the Principal and to members of the College Corporation. She is also responsible for ensuring that the College meets its key financial targets each year and for the long-term continued financial liquidity of the College. Prior to this she worked for over 12 years as Director of Finance at West Herts College.
She is delighted to have joined the Governing Body at Beaumont School and hopes that her skills and knowledge will be of benefit to the school and its community.

Anthony Rowlands LEA Governor until 18-12-13
Education: MA in Modern History, Oxford University; Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, Cambridge University and MA in Educational Administration, London University. Anthony taught History in a number of secondary schools before being appointed a Director of an independent public policy think tank in 2000. He is a member of St Albans City & District Council (Marshalswick South Ward: 1986 -2003 and Ashley Ward: 2006 – date). Portfolio Holder for Community Engagement and Support since 2007. He is a former member of Hertfordshire County Council (St Albans North - 1993-97). Anthony stood as Parliamentary candidate in 1997 (St Albans) and 2005 (Isle of Wight). He is a Trustee of Cross Herts Community Counselling. He is married to Harriet who teaches Drama and English at Beaumont and has two children: Alice (25) and Sam (23). Interests: long-suffering (until recently) supporter of Burnley FC, member of MCC and enjoys (?) long distance running - 12 London Marathons - so far. |

Mike Tidball Parent Governor until 31-3-12. Chair of Governors from March 2010
Mike has worked in Social Service Departments for 25 years, most recently as Deputy Director of Social Services for Bucks County Council and Operations Director for Aylesbury and Milton Keynes. He has been Vice Chair of a local NHS Trust and Chair of its Audit Committee, Mental Health Act Managers Committee and Complaints Convenor. Mike has experience of working in the voluntary sector and as a Governor. He enjoys working as part of a team. The high point of his career has been convening 20 Dads to run the Fleetville Junior School car boot team. He is an enthusiastic parent of four children, the youngest in Year 11, keen cyclist, yoga enthusiast and lover of France.

Alison Wallis Parent Governor until 19-10-10
Married to Nick, a Finance Director, mother of 3 children, all educated at Beaumont. Prior to having children Alison worked in HR in the City in the banking sector for ten years and was a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Nowadays she is involved in various areas of the school through the governor role, being a member of the Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Committee and the Community Committee, as well as doing some HR work in Recruitment and Selection of teaching staff. She also works as an Exams Invigilator which gives her a valuable insight into school life. Her outside interests are studying Spanish at the University of Hertfordshire, holidays in Spain and Spanish life in general, watching football and spending time with family and friends. |

Simone Kilka-Green Clerk to the governors
Simone took over the role of clerk to the governors in January 2010. She graduated from Nottingham University with a 2:1 in Law and then gained a first class honours at the College of Law in Guildford. She qualified as a solicitor with a large partnership in the City in 1994 and was promoted to Partner in a London firm, specialising in company/commercial law until 2006. After 18 months spent with a St Albans practice she now concentrates on looking after her 2 young daughters, Matilda and Jemima. The role of clerk involves arranging and recording governing body and committee meetings, and helping the governors keep abreast of the mass of rapidly evolving legislation and guidance aimed at schools. In her spare time Simone enjoys gardening, cinema, Garden Fields School PTA, keeping fit and is learning to make increasingly complex birthday cakes!
