Beaumont School is a popular, successful school which is regularly over-subscribed for pupils applying for admission in Year 7.

Beaumont School is an all ability co-educational secondary school maintained by the Local Education Authority Hertfordshire County Council, and is allowed to admit 178 students into Year 7 each year.

Hertfordshire LEA manages the transfer from primary school and entry to Beaumont, and entry to the school in Year 7 is decided by the LEA in accordance with their published admissions criteria. Any enquiries about admissions criteria and/or the likelihood of an application for a school place being successful should be addressed to the LEA, NOT to Beaumont School. In common with all community schools in the area, each year Beaumont holds an Open Evening during the first half of the Autumn term for parents and children currently in Year 6 who are interested in applying for a Year 7 place at the school through the Secondary Transfer process. This is an opportunity to look around the school, talk to teachers, support staff and pupils and decide whether the opportunities on offer here are those that best suit the individual needs of the child concerned. Parents who wish to make an appointment subsequently to see the school during the working day are welcome to do so at the Open Evening. The 2009 Open evening will be held at the school on Monday 12 October, from 6pm - 8.45pm

School places occasionally become available for pupils in Years 8-11, usually due to families moving out of the area. Enquiries about the availability of these places should again be directed to the Local Education Authority as their allocation to prospective pupils is also managed by Hertfordshire County Council and the school has no influence over the process. .
