Academy Status

Governors have been considering the merits of a move to Academy status for many months. A decision to register interest with the Department for Education in becoming an Academy was taken in November 2011. We have now formally registered our interest in becoming an Academy and are initiating the consultation process with all stakeholders. Only at the end of that process will the Governing Body take a final decision on whether or not to apply for Academy status. Click here for further information.

Entry to Beaumont Sixth Form September 2012

Beaumont School is proud to have a large and thriving Sixth Form of approximately 290 students. Around 80% of our Year 11 students are admitted to the sixth form each year, and are joined by a significant number of external students. We are delighted that we are already receiving enquiries from external candidates about entrance to our sixth form for September 2012. If you are interested in learning more about how to join the Sixth Form at Beaumont School, and accessing the benefits of the broader BeauSandVer consortium, please contact Mr de Kort, Head of Sixth Form (tel 01727 732962). Our Open Evening for those interested in applying for sixth form entry was held on Tuesday 10th January 2012 . Applications to join the sixth form should be submitted by Friday 3 February 2012.

Beaumont Sixth Form was judged to be 'Outstanding' – the highest possible accolade - during the school's last full Ofsted inspection in December 2008. Our A level results are consistently excellent; 2011 has been our most successful year to date with 37% of grades achieved this year being A*-A (national average 27%). A and AS results for 2011 place Beaumont in the top 10% of schools for  'value added'. Our students can expect their time in Beaumont Sixth Form to be excellent preparation for their future success: 90% of our students leaving in 2011 took up a place at a University of their choice. A record number of students also achieved Oxbridge and Medical school places this year. All left taking with them the personal, academic and social benefits gained from two years in our outstanding sixth form community.
